The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department (PMRD) is a part of the ancillary services of the UERM Memorial Hospital. The department offers treatment that will help patients regain their function.

The Department is manned by nine (9) Physiatrists, five (5) Physical Therapists and one (1) General Clerk. The Physical Therapists use therapeutic modalities and perform case specific exercises to help patient’s rehabilitation.
One (1) Shockwave that is used for chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
One (1) TECAR machine that is used for tightness, spasticity and acute and chronic pain management
One (1) High Intensity Laser that is used for pain management especially ports injuries, back and cervical disorders.
One (1) Treadmill that is used for endurance, coordination and lower extremity strengthening.
Suspension system to assist patient in ambulation
One (1) Intermittent Pneumatic Compression that is used for edema management.
Six (6) Portable ES/TENS machine that is used for muscle stimulation and pain control.
One (1) EN-STIM that is used for muscle stimulation and pain control.
One (1) Paraffin Wax Bath that is used for treatment with hand conditions
One (1) Hydrocollator tank that is used for hot moist packs storage. Hot moist packs are used for muscle and joint pain control.
Three (3) Therapeutic ultrasound machines that are used for muscle and joint pain management.
One (1) Cervical traction ,machine that is used to relieve nerve root impingement.
One (1) Infrared radiation that is used for muscle and joint pain management.
