The Neurophysiology Laboratory provides advanced electrodiagnostic and neurophysiological testing to aid in the diagnosis and management of neuromuscular, peripheral nerve, and central nervous system disorders. Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped to perform a full spectrum of electrophysiological studies, ensuring accurate and reliable assessments for referring physicians.

Services We Provide

Electromyography (EMG) & Nerve Conduction Studies (NCV)

Essential for evaluating peripheral nerve and muscle function, these studies aid in diagnosing neuropathies, radiculopathies, motor neuron diseases, and myopathies.

  • EMG-NCV – Standard nerve and muscle function assessment.
  • EMG-NCV with Repetitive Nerve Stimulation (RNS) – Evaluates neuromuscular junction disorders such as myasthenia gravis.
  • Single-Fiber EMG – High-sensitivity technique for detecting disorders of neuromuscular transmission, including myasthenia gravis and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome.

Electroencephalography (EEG)

EEG is a critical tool in the diagnosis of epilepsy, encephalopathies, and other neurological conditions.

  • Routine & Prolonged Video EEG – Standard and extended brain wave recordings for seizure classification and differential diagnosis.
  • 24-hour (or longer) Video EEG Monitoring – Continuous monitoring to capture ictal and interictal activity for epilepsy and seizure characterization.

Neuromuscular Ultrasound

A complementary modality to electrodiagnostic studies, neuromuscular ultrasound allows for real-time structural assessment of peripheral nerves and muscles, aiding in the diagnosis of entrapment neuropathies, inflammatory myopathies, and nerve injuries.

Evoked Potentials – Objective CNS Pathway Testing

Evoked potentials assess the integrity of sensory pathways, providing valuable information in conditions such as multiple sclerosis, spinal cord disorders, and auditory or visual impairments.

  • Visual Evoked Potentials (VEPs) – Evaluates optic nerve function in demyelinating diseases and compressive optic neuropathies.
  • Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SSEPs) – Assesses the integrity of sensory pathways, particularly useful in spinal cord injury and demyelinating diseases.
  • Auditory Evoked Potentials (AEPs) / Brainstem Auditory Evoked Responses (BAERs) – Useful in evaluating auditory pathway dysfunction, including brainstem pathology and hearing impairments.
